Orbit Exchange Commission Calculator: Compare 2.5% vs 5%
Use the Orbit Exchange commission calculator to compare 2.5% and 5% on net profit, measure the fee increase and test a current 3% alternative.

SharkBetX: 3% on the current account we checked
That is 2 percentage points below the affected Orbit route at 5%. The public SharkBetX settlement page still says 2%, while its FAQ says rates are set per account. Verify the rate displayed to you before placing an order.
For a volume bettor, the important question is not whether 5% sounds high. It is how much the change removes from the positive net results that actually attract commission.
The correct Orbit commission formula
Use:
commission = positive net result x commission rate
Then:
profit after commission = positive net result - commission
The phrase positive net result matters. Exchange positions can offset one another within an event or market. If your account nets them before charging commission, adding the profit from every winning order exaggerates the fee.
Likewise, total turnover is not automatically commissionable profit. A bettor can cycle a large stake volume while finishing with a much smaller positive net amount.
Worked example: 10,000 in positive net profit
Assume the account defines 10,000 as commissionable positive net profit:
Previous Orbit route 2.5% | Affected Orbit route 5% | SharkBetX account 3% observed | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commission | 250 | 500 | 300 |
| Profit after commission | 9,750 | 9,500 | 9,700 |
| Difference vs 5% | 250 saved | Baseline | 200 saved |

Moving from 2.5% to 5% doubles the fee from 250 to 500. It does not halve profit. The after-fee result falls from 9,750 to 9,500, a reduction of about 2.56% relative to the old after-fee result.
Against the 3% SharkBetX account rate checked by our network, the same simplified base produces a 200 difference. Its public settlement page still says 2%, so use the rate displayed on the actual account. The comparison is meaningful only if the order price, matched amount and settlement base are otherwise comparable.
How does 5% affect matched and volume betting?
Matched and volume betting often run on a narrow expected margin. Commission can change:
- the lay stake required to balance outcomes;
- the qualifying loss on a promotion;
- whether a small arbitrage remains positive after costs;
- the value of closing or hedging an open position;
- the point where extra turnover stops being worthwhile.
Do not subtract five percentage points from the ROI of every bet. Commission is applied to the account's defined positive result, while turnover includes wins, losses, unmatched orders and offsetting positions.
The right workflow is:
- calculate the position before commission;
- net positions according to the exchange rules;
- apply the account's commission rate to the positive base;
- add price movement, partial-fill, conversion and funding costs;
- compare the final outcome across platforms.
Our exchange netting calculator models the position mechanics. Use the commission calculator above for the separate rate comparison.
How to verify your actual Orbit rate
We can verify 5% on the affected route, but we cannot verify one public, universal Orbit tariff. Before changing a strategy or moving funds:
- Open the current fee screen for the exact account.
- Save the rate, date and broker or access-package name.
- Check whether the rate applies to every sport and market.
- Check whether existing open orders keep their original rate.
- Reconcile one positive settlement against the stated base.
- Ask whether any broker, payment or currency fee sits outside commission.
If the provider cannot state the commission base, a lower percentage is not a complete price.
Should a volume bettor move away from Orbit?
A 5% rate creates a strong reason to compare alternatives, not an automatic reason to move every order.
Use this decision table:
Stay and verify | Test an alternative | |
|---|---|---|
| Actual account rate | Still below 5% or scope is limited | Confirmed 5% on the markets you use |
| Liquidity | Needed stake fills at a better total price | Comparable stake fills without material slippage |
| Settlement | Existing workflow is reliable and documented | Alternative rules are clear and testable |
| Funding | Current route is cheaper end to end | Wallet, conversion and withdrawal route is understood |
| Operations | No urgent open-position risk | Small parallel test can be run safely |

Start with a small, comparable market. Record displayed odds, depth, matched amount, average price, positive net result, commission and withdrawal cost. One complete receipt is more useful than two headline percentages.
Why SharkBetX belongs in the comparison
SharkBetX is structurally different from Orbit. It is an official Polymarket Builder with a sports-focused interface, back and lay orders, USDC settlement on Polygon and on-chain receipts.
The SharkBetX account route checked by our network now shows 3%. Its public settlement documentation still states:
- 2% commission on positive net positions in Exchange mode;
- event-level netting before commission;
- no commission on zero or negative net positions;
- weighted treatment if bets were placed at different account rates.
Its FAQ says the account rate is locked when a bet is placed. Poly Direct has no SharkBetX commission, although standard Polymarket fees may apply.
The observed 3% rate is attractive after a move to 5%, but the documentation mismatch makes the displayed account rate especially important. The product also adds wallet, stablecoin and smart-contract considerations. Check market depth and the full funding route before assuming that the lower rate produces the best total result.
Test the current 3% account rate against one real market
Compare the same event, order size and accepted price. SharkBetX is crypto-native and uses Polymarket liquidity, so rate, depth, custody and funding should be assessed together. Its public page still says 2%, so verify the displayed rate. This is a sponsored link.
Sources and update record
The 2.5% to 5% Orbit change was verified from first-hand account evidence on the affected access route on 28 July 2026. We did not find a public Orbit notice explaining the reason or establishing 5% as a universal rate.
Primary public sources for the alternative comparison:

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate Orbit Exchange commission?
Multiply the positive net result defined by your account terms by the commission rate. At 5%, a 100-unit commission base produces a 5-unit fee.
How much more does 5% cost than 2.5%?
The extra fee is 2.5% of the same commission base. On 1,000 units of positive net profit, that is 25 units more: 50 instead of 25.
Is Orbit commission charged on total betting volume?
Do not assume so. Use the basis defined by your account and reconcile it against a settled event. Exchange commission is often linked to positive net results rather than total stakes.
Why did Orbit increase commission to 5%?
We found no public explanation that could be verified. The change is confirmed on the affected route, but any commercial reason would be speculation without a dated notice.
What commission does SharkBetX charge?
The account route checked by our network shows 3% of positive net positions in Exchange mode. Its public settlement documentation still states 2%, while the FAQ says rates are set per account. Confirm the rate shown when placing the order.
