Sharkbetting: The Oddsmatcher Built for Volume Bettors

Why Sharkbetting is our go-to oddsmatcher for volume betting: 20+ bookmakers scanned live, match view, BetStream, and native SharkbetX (SBX) exchange integration.

Published · By VolumeBetting Editorial

Finding edges is a throughput problem. Once you've built the calculator stack and the exchange setup, the bottleneck on a volume-betting operation becomes how many profitable markets can you actually see per hour. That's what an oddsmatcher is for.

After running most of the mainstream options, we recommend Sharkbetting, it's the only oddsmatcher we've found that's actively designed around volume bettors and high-stake liquidity rather than £5 matched-betting qualifiers.

What Sharkbetting is

Sharkbetting is a live oddsmatcher and arbitrage scanner that watches 20+ bookmakers in real time and surfaces back/lay pairs, surebets, and low-margin markets as they appear. It's the discovery layer on top of a matched-betting workflow: bookmakers on one side, exchange on the other, a live feed in the middle telling you where the edges are right now.

It runs as a web app with a free tier and paid plans, and includes a Match View (side-by-side bookmaker comparison on a single match), a BetStream (live feed of what experienced community members are placing), and direct integration with SharkbetX (SBX) for the lay side.

Dozens
Volume-friendly bookmakers scanned
Stake, BC.Game, Gamdom, Bet365, Unibet and many more, crypto-native and fiat operators that actually pay for volume.
Real-time
Odds refresh
Arbitrage edges disappear in seconds. Sharkbetting's scanner is built around that constraint.
3%
Native SBX lay commission
Lay side of every recommended bet routes through SharkbetX (SBX), charged on net winnings only.
1,200+
Active community
Discord + in-app BetStream so you can see what's actually getting matched.

Why volume bettors need a different oddsmatcher

Most oddsmatchers were built for the original UK matched-betting market, £5 free-bet offers, £10 acca insurance, gubbing-proof stake profiles. They optimise for finding the cheapest qualifying-loss pair on the smallest possible markets.

Volume betting is the opposite problem. We're not chasing a £10 bonus; we're placing thousands of pounds across dozens of markets a week to accrue VIP, cashback, and reload value. That workload needs:

Target market size
How big a stake the listed edge can actually absorb.
Volume-bettor oddsmatcher
High-liquidity markets that can take £2k–£10k+ stakes without moving the line.
Classic matched-betting oddsmatcher
Small qualifying markets, often illiquid on the lay side.
Bookmaker mix
Volume-bettor oddsmatcher
VIP-paying books + crypto-native operators + reload-friendly fiat brands.
Classic matched-betting oddsmatcher
UK retail bookmakers that ban winners fast.
Exchange integration
Volume-bettor oddsmatcher
Native SharkbetX (SBX) lay routing at 3% on net winnings only.
Classic matched-betting oddsmatcher
Usually assumes Betfair at 5% + premium charge.
Surebet / arbitrage coverage
Volume-bettor oddsmatcher
First-class, scanner continuously refreshes cross-book edges.
Classic matched-betting oddsmatcher
Usually gated behind a premium tier; smaller book coverage.
Community signal
Volume-bettor oddsmatcher
BetStream shows what larger, more experienced bettors are actually placing.
Classic matched-betting oddsmatcher
Usually none, or forum-only.
The volume bettor's oddsmatcher has to surface fewer, bigger, longer-lived edges, not more, smaller ones.

What it actually does

Three primary views, each doing one job well.

1. The oddsmatcher

A live table of back/lay pairs ranked by rating, 100% is a perfectly-hedged qualifier, anything above 100% is an arbitrage. You filter by sport, league, bookmaker, rating threshold, and market type, then click through to the matched pair you want to place.

2. Match View

Pick a single fixture and Sharkbetting lays out every bookmaker's price for every market on it. Useful when you're shopping a specific match (e.g. you want to place a large stake on a Premier League result and need to know who currently has the highest back price).

3. BetStream

A live feed of bets being placed by the community, anonymised but with stake bands, bookmaker, and outcome. Functionally similar to watching professional bettors' trade flow, you see what's getting matched in real time, not just what the algorithm thinks should be a good bet.

The SBX integration

This is the part that made Sharkbetting our default recommendation. Every lay recommendation on the platform pairs natively with SharkbetX (SBX), a flat 3% commission charged on net winnings only, the same setup you get by signing up through VolumeBetting. That means:

  1. The ratings you see on the oddsmatcher already reflect a 3% winnings-only lay commission, not Betfair's per-bet billing plus premium charge. The edges listed are the edges you'd actually capture.
  2. Every lay is priced against SharkbetX and Betfair side by side, with Betfair as the fallback for markets SBX doesn't carry yet, so you always see the best executable pair. SBX itself fills from Polymarket's deep order book.
  3. The volume calculators on this site use the same commission assumption, so Sharkbetting's rating and our volume-betting ROI calculator agree on the numbers.

No other mainstream oddsmatcher models winnings-only commission as the default. Most assume Betfair's per-bet billing, which means either the ratings are systematically pessimistic or users are unknowingly comparing the wrong numbers.

Lock in the SBX lay side first

Open an SBX account before you start scanning

A flat 3% commission on net winnings only, no premium charges on winners, deep liquidity from Polymarket's order book, crypto/USDC rails. Sharkbetting prices every lay against SBX and Betfair side by side, so setting that account up first is the logical entry point.

Who Sharkbetting is built for

  • Volume bettors with a bankroll over £5k and the appetite to place multiple large bets a week. This is the primary audience.
  • Serious matched bettors who have finished the beginner-tier sign-up offers and want to scale up to VIP/reload territory.
  • Surebet / arbitrage players who need cross-book scanning in real time rather than once-a-day PDF exports.
  • Bettors who want a community signal, BetStream is genuinely useful for catching mispricing windows.

It's not the right tool if you're looking to grind £5 free-bet qualifiers on UK high-street books, classic matched-betting oddsmatchers are cheaper and more focused for that workflow.

How to try it

A free tier covers the oddsmatcher, Match View, and a subset of BetStream so you can evaluate without committing a subscription. Paid plans unlock full community access, higher-frequency scans, and advanced filters.

  1. Open an SBX account first, the ratings you'll see assume its 3% winnings-only rate.
  2. Try Sharkbetting on the free tier. Filter the oddsmatcher by your preferred leagues and bookmakers.
  3. Cross-check with our calculators, the matched betting calculator and surebet calculator both use the same commission assumption, so the numbers will line up.
Is Sharkbetting free?

There's a free tier covering the oddsmatcher and Match View with limited bookmaker coverage. Paid plans unlock full scanner coverage, higher-frequency refresh, and the full BetStream community feed. Evaluate on the free tier first.

Do I need an SBX account to use it?

No, but the ratings assume SharkbetX's flat 3% commission on net winnings only. If you plan to lay on Betfair, where commission is billed per winning bet and premium charges apply to winners, you'll want to adjust the expected edge downward, or just open the SBX account and use the ratings as-is. Orbit-route bettors, and anyone laying the handicap or Draw No Bet markets SBX doesn't carry yet, can run the lay side on 96ex at a flat 5%.

How does Sharkbetting compare to OddsMonkey or Profit Accumulator?

OddsMonkey and Profit Accumulator are excellent for the classic beginner matched-betting workflow, £5 free-bet qualifiers, acca insurance, etc. Sharkbetting is purpose-built for the next tier: larger stakes, VIP-paying books, netted-commission lay routing, real-time community signal. Different audiences, different optimisations.

Will using Sharkbetting get me gubbed?

Gubbing is a function of what you bet on, not which tool you use to find it. Volume-friendly books, the crypto-native operators and VIP-driven fiat brands Sharkbetting surfaces, are built around rewarding exactly the high-turnover profile we're optimising for. The risk vector isn't Sharkbetting itself; it's placing obvious promo arbs on UK retail brands that flag "value-only" patterns. A volume-oriented oddsmatcher biases you toward the safer end of that spectrum by default.

What's the relationship between VolumeBetting and Sharkbetting?

VolumeBetting is an affiliate partner of Sharkbetting. Signing up through our sharkbetting link doesn't change the price or the product, it just attributes the referral to us. The reason we recommend it is genuinely that it's the best volume-focused oddsmatcher we've found; the affiliate relationship came after.
